German Town

Quick! What country do you think this town is in?

It looks German, doesn't it?  Take a closer look:

The town is Colmar.  It is in the Alsace--a region which used to be part of Germany, but is now (once again) in France.

  1. The Alsace is full of "German" towns. It's so interesting to compare the spelling of the town names. One of these days I need to do a post about some of my travels through the Alsace. Thanks for the reminder

  2. We absolutely loved Colmar. Such a great combo of cultures and a perfect pairing in the food arena.

    1. Ok - that is just funny. I went back to look at our post & pics of Colmar & found your comment! "Very cute! I so want to go there...Colmar is on my list :-)"

      Mission accomplished!

  3. That looks gorgeous but as I live in Germany and as yet haven't visited the parts of the country that look like this (although I've seen plenty of snaps of the towns), I figure I should visit Germany within Germany before I visit Germany within France ;)

  4. I'm going to have to add this to the list of "must-see" places. Love the look of this town...German design YET it has that French influence of happy colors...very cool.
